JATC letter to Students (Download PDF)
Dear Jordan Academy for Technology and Careers (JATC) Student:
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your Career and Technical Education (CTE)
Coordinator at Herriman High. I am available to you in the Career Center through the Counseling Center doors and
hope to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have about your program at the JATC. Below are some
items that I would like to bring to your attention but please understand that circumstances for the 2020-21 school
year are unprecedented and procedures are constantly changing. Please sign up for the Remind 101 messages
(student and parent) to stay up-to-date on changes as they come…
• 1st Semester/Year-long Programs: Start Monday, August 24, 2019. Plan and be ready to attend JATC the
first day of school.
• Busing information: Buses for the 2020-21 school year will run Monday through Thursday. There will be
no buses to the tech center on Fridays. Details can be found on the back of this letter along with other
information about lunch and begin/end times. You will want to understand the busing before school starts.
If you wait to ask questions the first day then you could miss the bus.
Herriman’s bell schedule (included) will affect the afternoon students. Teachers at both Herriman and the
JATC will work with you. PM students that ride the bus will be excused at 10:40 M-Th. PM students who
drive should have plenty of time. With the new bell schedule, students should not need to leave 2nd and 6th
early. If you miss the bus, you are responsible to make other arrangements to get yourself to JATC.
• JATC Locations: We have two JATC campuses in Jordan District. JATC North is located SLCC Campus on
Bangeter/9000 South & JATC South on 12723 Park Avenue in Riverton. In addition there are a few
satellite programs at West Jordan High School (reminder no busing to satellite programs, see reverse side
of this letter for parking.) Go the www.jordantech.org to find where your program will be held.
I hope this is helpful to you in planning for the beginning of the school year. If you have, any other questions please
feel free to contact me at 801-567-8547 or email@example.com You can also call the Career Center at
801-567-8547. Also visit www.jordantech.org for latest info on busing, instructor contacts, etc.
